Obtaining a mortgage can be tough. Lucky for you, I am here to help. Here are 10 things to keep in mind during the mortgage process. 

I. Thou shall NOT change jobs, become self-employed, or quit a job.

II. Thou shall NOT co-sign a loan for anyone.

III. Thou shall NOT buy a vehicle (or you may end up living in it).

IV. Thou shall NOT use charge cards excessively or make ANY late payments.

V. Thou shall NOT spend money you set aside for closing.

VI. Thou shall NOT omit debts or liabilities from your loan application.

VII. Thou shall NOT buy furniture, appliances, or household items before closing. 

VIII. Thou shall NOT originate any inquiries into your credit.

IX. Thou shall NOT make large deposits without first checking with your lender.

Once upon a time, in a land far, far away, Jack and Jill decided they finally wanted to purchase a home, so they called Mr. Realtor. 

When Mr. Realtor met with Jack and Jill, he asked them if they have been pre-approved by a mortgage professional. They said they have not - but "knew" they would qualify. Since Jack and Jill seemed like a really nice, smart couple, Mr. Realtor went against his better judgement and chose to show them houses without a pre-approval

The three of them looked for weeks to find the perfect home. Finally, they went to a home up on the hill, and decided it was perfect. With excitement, they put an offer in! 

However, without a pre-approval letter, the seller could not accept their offer. They finally decide...
