The 10 Commandments During Mortgage Process

July 6, 2017

Obtaining a mortgage can be tough. Lucky for you, I am here to help. Here are 10 things to keep in mind during the mortgage process.

I. Thou shall NOT change jobs, become self-employed, or quit a job.

II. Thou shall NOT co-sign a loan for anyone.

III. Thou shall NOT buy a vehicle (or you may end up living in it).

IV. Thou shall NOT use charge cards excessively or make ANY late payments.

V. Thou shall NOT spend money you set aside for closing.

VI. Thou shall NOT omit debts or liabilities from your loan application.

VII. Thou shall NOT buy furniture, appliances, or household items before closing.

VIII. Thou shall NOT originate any inquiries into your credit.

IX. Thou shall NOT make large deposits without first checking with your lender.

X. Tho shall NOT pay off any collection accounts or charge offs prior to closing. (Do it before application or after closing).

So there you have it. Don't let one of these mistakes stop you from buying your home!
